In this situation, the responsibility would fall on the fat man. I would quickly tell him that his weight, though probably killing him, could save those people should he decide to jump in front of the train. I would help his fat ass over the edge of the bridge if he decided to go through with it. But to make the choice for him, killing him, does not all of a sudden grant me the title of a hero. It is not okay to kill others unless the person you’re killing is trying to kill you or someone else and there’s no other way to prevent it than by taking the perpetrators life. This is not one of those situations.

If he were the one who set up the whole entire thing, and I knew that for a fact, I’d definitely do it.

Aside from that, who am I to say that one life is more or less valuable than five others? Life is not something with a market value.
